Master of Theology (M.Th)

Purpose of the Program

To train and equip missionaries, pastors and leaders who have an advanced knowledge
To prepare for a life of scholarship and effective ministry
To meet the global challenges
To empower people to fulfill the Great Commision

Eligibility

Applicants must have completed a Bachelor of Divinity/Master of Divinity or equivalent degree with minimum of second class from a recognized institution.

Applicants must have a minimum of one year of ministry experience after the completion of previous theological degree.

For M. Th in New Testament, the applicants must have 2 Greek exegesis papers during their previous study.

 

Admission Notification

 

The admission committee meets in the first week of December each year and applicants are normally informed whether they are admitted or not by the end of January. The college is under no obligation to give specific reasons for their refusal of any applicant and such reasons will normally not be given. Under no circumstances should any applicant come to the college without having received official notification from the registrar offering him/her a place.

 

Entrance Examination

 

All applicants for the M.Th degree course are required to pass an entrance examination consisting of two papers: one is to test their proficiency in English language, ability to think critically and familiarity with research methodology; and the other is in the branch of their concentration.

Duration

 

This course requires two years from the month of March to June each year. This will cover 12 credit hours of residential studies each summer.

 

After the completion of first summer studies, candidates are required to complete inter-disciplinary course of 4 credits (2 credits theory and 2 credits for practical work).

 

After the completion of the second summer studies, candidates are required to complete a thesis of 12 credits in the area of concentration and submit to the Office of the Registrar on the second Friday of December.

 

In successful completion of all the requirements the candidate will be awarded M.Th. degree in the area of concentration on the following Graduation Day of the college.
